Ganesh, is the elephant headed god of wisdom and success, is thedefender and remover of obstacles and has to be propitiated firstbefore worship to other gods. He is one of the sons of Shiva. Hiselephant head has only one tusk, while other is broken. He said tohave lost it in fight with Parasuram. His elephant head is believedto be emblem of wisdom and his mount is the ''Mooshika'' calledshrew. He is also known as Vinayaka.
